ๆๆ็ๆณ Mochizuki Gyokusen (1834-1913)
Japanese painter of the Shijo School, active during the Meiji and Taisho periods in Japan. Born in Takeya-cho, Muromachi, Kyoto. Grandfather was Mochizuki Gyokusen ๆๆ็่พ, a painter of the Mochizuki school, and father was Mochizuki Gyokusen ๆๆ็ๅท. From the age of six he was taught painting by his grandfather, from the age of 16 he learnt painting from his father, and poetry from Iwagaki Rokuzo ๅทๅฃๅ
ญ่ต. The Mochizuki family has been in the service of the court for generations, and in 1855 painted the sliding doors for the construction of the Kyoto Imperial Palace, followed by the dedication of the Iwafuji Kumagai Wild Boar Screens along with the Sanchaubai Gigaku Inu no Zu when the Meiji Emperor ascended the throne.
