In Zen, it expresses 和 wa (harmony or peace). It has no beginning and end, you may judge as you like, it can be sometimes seen as moon. Enso is a circle that is hand drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.

This means that a person’s inner beauty and state of mind naturally manifest themselves in their demeanour and in their casual, everyday words and actions, wafting out like a fragrance and reaching those around them.
