Sea, Crane, and Sacred Peaches (Kaikaku Bantō-zu) is a traditional Japanese auspicious subject symbolizing longevity, prosperity, and good fortune. The crane, revered as a bird of long life, is paired with sacred peaches (Bantō), the legendary fruit of immortality in Chinese mythology. Flowing ocean waves represent eternal vitality and continuous fortune, while the rising sun signifies new beginnings and enduring success. Together, these auspicious motifs create a harmonious composition expressing wishes for a long, peaceful, and prosperous life.
